Well, Netherlands ; September 18th – 24th, 2009
Arriving in the Netherlands for my first semester sophomore year, I couldn’t have been more ready to live in Europe for three months. It seems so long ago now. I’m two weeks shy of being a junior in college and it almost seems like it never happened. It was three months of surrealism, a time away from real life. It’s starting to become someplace I’d rather be than anywhere else.
I don’t think I can recreate a travel journal so long after the fact, but I want to document it somehow with some images and text that hopefully can capture some of the moments.
To begin with: the place.

So the world of social media had finally taken hold on me. With nothing to do on a gloomy, cold Friday I’ve taken the internet and gone and made myself a Twitter and a blog. All inspired by Cecille’s online savvy and aesthetically pleasing self. Meghan and I are working hard in my bed at our new online ventures. Truth be told, I was kick started into this whole thing because she had created a Twitter at work first, then mentioned that she wanted to get a blog as well. And I, being the sheep that I am, had to follow suit. I’d been wanting to for a while, now I’m just trying not to fall behind.
Anyway, come summer I’m comandeering my dad’s old polaroid camera and investing some expensive film, so pictures will be coming. In the meantime, I don’t really know the direction of this quite yet. Life? A general outpouring of things I do and love? Who knows. We’ll see. In the meantime, I’m just trying to make this thing look pretty.
